Most Entertaining Small Chorus in the World!

On September 17th, 2019, Limestone City Voices hoped, going into their first appearance on the international stage in the SAI Harmony Classic, that they had a special offer "the audience couldn't refuse" with "The Chordfather." Knowing the idea could potentially be a challenge for judges, dressing an entire chorus of women as gangsters of the 40's, singing in the vernacular and toting a violin case, the comments about commitment to character and the fun that was had, LCV was overwhelmed to win the Most Entertaining Chorus Award, and placing 4th in the small chorus division. The Most Entertaining award was particularly meaningful given that it's voted on by 100 members randomly selected from the audience for all ten Harmony Classic performing groups.

Medalists in their first International Competition!

The year 2018 will be one for the history books for the Limestone City Voices! Many would say it is unheard for a newer chapter in the barbershop music world to medal in their first few years but indeed, the Limestone City Voices have done that and then some.

Following another successful spring contest season that saw them achieve top honours in Sweet Adelines Region 16 competition (Small Chorus Champions, 2nd Place Overall Medalists) and Harmony Incorporated Area 5 competition (Chorus Champions), the ladies capped off the year with a 4th place medal at the Harmony Incorporated international competition in Orlando, Florida in November 2018, their first outing on the international stage.

Kristin Stevens Achieves Master Director Status!

It is with great pride that we announce that our director, Kristin Stevens, has achieved MASTER DIRECTOR status!

The award of Master Director is given by Sweet Adelines International to a certified director whose chorus scores at least 600 points in competition. It's a milestone many strive for but few achieve.

Kristin exemplifies all that makes a great leader from her vision, integrity, passion, communication and humour to her extensive skills and abilities as a musician and teacher. We couldn't be more proud of her!

A Surprise Prize for Limestone City Voices!

Having recently joined HARMONY, INC., a women's barbershop singing organization, we simply wanted to expand our barbershop experience and spread our love of barbershop harmony. Something more transpired and we are so very proud to have earned a spot at Harmony Incorporated's International Competition in Orlando, Florida this fall and represent the wonderfully welcoming and fun singers in Area 5 as  "Chorus Champions."  We have so many people to thank for our recent achievements not the least of which would be our members, our director Kristin Stevens, and our coach extraordinaire, Mo Field!

A Trifecta for Limestone City Voices!

To say that we are OVER THE MOON with excitment and pride would be an understatement following our regional appearance in Syracuse, NY on April 26, 2018. But here we are... our third consecutive win in as many outings in the 'international division' of regional competition as the Division A Small Chorus Champions of Sweet Adelines Region 16! If that wasn't excitement enough for us, our score, a 51-point improvement over the previous year, also earned us the Most Improved Chorus award and 2nd Place Overall Medalist award in a field of 15 choruses!

Region 16 Division 'A' Small Chorus Winners!

We are thrilled and exceedingly proud, following a one-year hiatus from competition, to capture the 1st Place Division 'A' Small Chorus award at this year's Region 16 convention in Syracuse, NY. The win is our second in as many outings in the international division of regional competition and it landed us in 6th place overall in a field of 16 competing choruses! We couldn't have done it without the care and direction of our beloved director Kristin Stevens, associate director Vanessa Patterson, and new co-director Mo Field. Between them, they threw the gauntlet down and we stepped up to the challenge digging deeper than ever to strive for excellence in vocal performance and evolve the musicianship in each and every one of us! THANK YOU ladies for keeping the faith!
